Trip Packing Lists

Every trip signup form includes a packing list. If you missed it or would like to review it again, here are some example packing lists for various trips. It's important to pay attention to the weather and any other trip details that might affect what you need to bring.

Day Hikes

weekend Camping trips

  • Warm Sleeping Bag, 20 degree temperature rating is recommended. A 0 or 15 degree is even better. A 32 degree bag will be inadequate.

  • Tent

  • Sleeping pad

    • sleeping pads are not cushions, they are thermal barriers R value of 1.5 or more.

  • Hiking Boots

  • Daypack

  • Food

    • Outdoor club does not provide food to members on trips. You need Friday dinner, saturday breakfast lunch and dinner, and a plan to eat sunday morning on the drive home.

  • Cooking equipment

  • Sunscreen

  • Warm clothes. Jacket, pants, gloves, hat, etc. it often gets below 30 degrees at night

  • Day clothes

  • Folding chair

  • Rain jacket

  • WATER 4 or more liters of water per person (That's 4 nalgenes and abt 3.5 hydro flasks)

  • Head lamp
