Colorado Resorts

Winter park, co

With its close proximity to the foothills, incredibly diverse terrain and affordability, Winter Park is a favorite of CSU students and Outdoor Club officers alike.

This mountain has plenty of advanced terrain for all of your gnar shredding needs as well as accessible beginner terrain for those looking to pizza down the bunny hill.

Winter Park also offers a full season pass included in the Ikon Base Pass, making it ridiculously affordable!

While the drive isn’t exactly short, the 2 hour drive to WP is well worth it.

COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO

Copper Mountain, being a similar distance away from Winter Park and having comparable terrain, is another go-to ski mountain for us here at the OC club.

This mountain has something for everyone; expert level terrain, a phenomenal park, gorgeous rolling groomers and even a Superpipe! There is also very friendly beginner slopes. The terrain is also naturally divided, making the mountain easy to navigate. Expert terrain to the west, easy terrain to the east, intermediate in the middle

Copper Mountain also offers a full season pass included in the Ikon Base Pass, making you not feel so bad for going on a non-pow day!

Copper mountain is about 2-2.5 hours south right off of I-70.

Arapahoe basin

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area “Abasin” is a favorite of skiers and snowboarders that like to avoid crowds and ride insane terrain.

Eldora Mountain

Closest to Fort Collins, Eldora Mountain is a go-to for those that like to save on gas and cash.

Out of State

Snowbird Ski Area

Snowbird Ski Resort is located 30 minutes outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. It’s a favorite of our Vice President due to it’s considerable extreme terrain and minimal crowds (in comparison with Colorado resorts at least)!

Located in the Little Cottonwood Canyon, Snowbird has 2,500 acres of skiable terrain and over 3,000 ft of vertical drop from its highest lift to the base. This is by no means a beginner area, but it offers a diverse playground of features for the more-endowed skier. The resort connects to its neighbor on the Mineral Basin side, Alta Ski Area, through a interconnect run from the top of Snowbird’s Baldy lift to the top of Alta’s Sugarloaf lift. A special feature of the resort is the Peruvian Tunnel, a historic tunnel that cuts through the mountain from the Peruvian Gulch to the Mineral Basin.

Snowbird is accessible on the IKON Pass (7 days between Alta and Snowbird) and IKON Base Pass (5 days - Snowbird only).

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a famed ski area that no doubt lives up to its reputation. Many consider skiing this Wyoming terrain a bucket-list item, with some of the country’s best skiers and snowboarders calling this mountain home.
